Ristorante La Piazzetta di Argegno… Most restaurants and hotels are closed on January the first. We won’t have a wide range of choices tonight. We slowly drive through Argegno and we notice the small town square surrounded by some restaurants which are obviously open. We quickly park the car and hurry to the town square. We peer trough the windows and make our decision. Tonight we’ll eat at Ristorante La Piazzetta…
We only get a chilly welcome by the strict hostes. We just keep on staring around for ten minutes in the entrance. Obviously the staff is busy cleaning some broken glasses on the second floor. On a security cam we see staff scrubbing the floor while the culprit (?) is bouncing in his child safety seat. Nevertheless, our welcome could have been better. Where is the Italian hospitality? Meanwhile pizza’s pass by which make us salvitating!
There are different rooms in the restaurant of which all tables are taken. Few alternatives in the neigborhood or just a good restaurant?

On the menu you’ll find dishes which are more refined than those you’ll find on a traditional menu. If you want to try something different instead of a standard pasta, you should consider this restaurant. Prices are a little bit higher but seem fair to us. Of course Ristorante La Piazetta offers a nice wine menu.
On the menu, there is no pizza. On the plates of the guests next to us, there is pizza. We ask the waiter to have some pizza too. No problem he says. We’ll need just another menu. It’ a pitty to offer only the fancy menu to guests. It’s a little trick applied to all tables. Now it feels we are less welcome only having some pizza. We are a little bit disappointed but we persevere and order three simple pizza, which are very tastefull!
We get a bill of 72 euros for three pizza, one tiramisu dessert, water and a bottle of wine. When we talk about the pizza, the price seems fine. To judge this restaurant better we should taste some other, more complex dishes out of the other menu.
Possibly will be continued on condition the hostes wakes up on the right side of the bed and the host cuts his cheap tourist gossip.
