Discover Pigra at Lake Como
Pigra is a small mountain village located at an altitude of 881 meters on the slopes of Monte Costone. It is a place where you immediately feel far away from the hustle and bustle around Lake Como. A down to earth village where locals feel completely at ease.
What makes Pigra so special is without a doubt its stunning view. The village offers one of the most beautiful panoramas of Lake Como, with an impressive view of the branch towards Como and the surrounding Alps. That alone makes a visit more than worthwhile.
Pigra itself is small and extremely quiet, without mass tourism. Do not expect a long list of sights or activities here the village mainly draws visitors because of its location and the peace that surrounds it. And that is exactly what makes it so appealing.
You can reach Pigra via a narrow road from Argegno, or by the well known funicular, a steep cable car that takes you to the top in just a few minutes and is already a unique experience in itself.
For those who enjoy walking, several routes start from the village, including paths towards Monte Galliga and Alpe di Colonno. You will also find a few small restaurants where you can enjoy simple local dishes, often with that same beautiful view as a backdrop.
Just outside the village you will also find the elegant Villa Peduzzi, a classic and beautifully restored villa that represents absolute luxury. With its stylish architecture and breathtaking setting, it forms a striking contrast with the simplicity of the village and adds an extra touch of exclusivity to this hidden place.
Pigra is not a destination full of action, but a place where peace, nature and panoramic views take center stage.
