Activities for children at Lake Como

Are you going to enjoy a family vacation at Lake Como? Are you looking for fun activities with children at Lake Como?
We would be happy to give you some inspiration.

We also regularly rack our brains over fun and, above all, practically feasible activities for children at Lake Como. With our two sons, Wolf and Bas, aged five and three respectively, we are more than experienced enough to answer this question. And to give an honest answer right away, we don’t always find it easy to come up with activities suitable for preschoolers ourselves. On this page, you can find inspiration for activities at Lake Como for both big and little kids…
Leave your car behind and take the (ferry) boat
Avoid long car rides as much as possible. Exploring Lake Como by car takes time and mileage. Once you reach your destination, finding a parking spot is often a challenge. This can sometimes dampen the kids’ spirits in the back seat even before the activity begins. Therefore, consider using the ferry boats on Lake Como for smooth and efficient travel. A boat trip is always a great idea for kids as well.
Lidos and Public Beaches
Wading or swimming is a natural (summer) activity with children. Around Lake Como, you’ll find a lido in most villages and towns. A lido is a public beach or grassy area where you can enjoy the sunshine and easily access the water. There’s usually a bar where you can order a drink or rent a beach chair. Background music often adds to the ambiance. During the summer, lidos can be very crowded. Italians love the sun!Swimming in Lake Como can be less accessible for children. So, consider visiting Lido di Argegno, Lido Villa Olmo, Lido di Moltrasio, or Lido Villa Geno. These lidos have public swimming pools. Lido di Lenno is also worth mentioning as one of the few lidos with a real sandy beach.
Renting a Boat
