Rent a boat on Lake Como… An obvious activity is renting a boat! There are several rental locations around the lake, most of them between Argegno and Menaggio.
By boat you can sail along the banks and admire the famous grandesque villas, dream away at the fantastic houses, apartments and lofts of the wealthy residents, take a look at the picturesque villages and, above all, realize that living on the banks of Lake Como will never fit in the budget. But we don’t let that get to our hearts… In our minds we sail the boat, waving to neighbor Georges Clooney, out of the boat garage of our villa and with our hair in the wind we hurry to a dinner on a shore of Lake Como!
We are not ashamed of our voyeurism and look lustfully at the beautiful villas and houses on the shores of Lake Como.
We set course from Argegno to Brienno, Laglio and Carate Urio. We are not ashamed of our voyeurism and look lustfully at the beautiful villas and houses on the shores of Lake Como. There are ab-so-lu-te gems in between!
We’ve said it many times, but you really discover the finesse of Lake Como from the water… We change course and sail across to Torno. Just floating at the beautiful harbor for a while!
The throttle opens again and we sail to Faggeto Lario, Nesso and Lezzeno.
Next stop is Lenno where we sail around Villa Balbianello. We dive into the refreshing water. The distance between our treading water and the ground is about four hundred meters. That makes Lake Como the deepest lake in Italy.
In the meantime we have been on the boat for an hour and a half and we have to return gradually if we want to be back on time. And so we sail past the peninsula of Lenno, the island of Isola Comancina and Colonno back to Argegno. The loop we’re making takes just under two hours. You could consider renting the boat for three hours, then you can continue to Bellagio.
Back on shore we pay 90 euros for the boat and 25 euros for the petrol. Rent a boat at Turati Boat Rental? Definitely a good idea!
