There are six of us so socializing under one roof is more fun than shacking up in different hotel rooms. Renting Villa Paolo in Tremezzo for a weekend costs 1068 euros (today). When we divide that by six people, we have a beautiful villa in a prime location for a competitive price per night per person!

Villa Paola has just been renovated and is rented out by rental company Lake Como Holiday. There are no reviews available on booking.com yet. After booking you will end up in email communication with Lake Como Holiday. You are asked to digitally add all guests to the stay. Via the online tool you can download a clear route description with photos and the instructions for finding the key. You can get the key from a box via a number code. So you don’t have the hassle of collecting the key at a specific time. The questions we ask afterwards are answered quickly and friendly. Yes, this is running smoothly.

The villa can accommodate 10 people, but indicates that 6 people is ideal. And it is. Sleeping would just be possible with ten individuals if you add the seat in the living room. The kitchen and breakfast bar are to fit for 6 people, no more. There are three bathrooms with shower. On the upper floor we have two bedrooms, two bathrooms, the living room and the kitchen. From the top floor you walk into the spacious front and back garden, the garden in front with a view of Lake Como.

The lower floor is in fact a sous-terrain. Again here two bedrooms, a bathroom and a sitting area. Too bad, there is no natural light and the choice of fluorescent lighting makes this floor uncomfortable. During a warm summer you will be able to sleep well in the cooler rooms. Through the sous-terrain you have access to the very spacious double garage. A great asset, especially for storing our bicycles.

The villa is very neat and homely furnished. The kitchen is comfortable with a coffee machine, toaster, microwave, dishwasher and many kitchen utensils. Kitchen towels, sheets and bath towels are provided, yes even an iron. A welcome pack will be waiting for you on arrival.

We also need to talk about the location. Tremezzo is a prime location due to, among other things, the smooth ferry connections to Varenna and Bellagio from Cadenabia and Menaggio. There is also quite a bit to experience on this shore: restaurants, Villa Carlotta, the bay of Lenno, Isola Comacina, Villa Balbianello, the Greenway del Lario walk, … The villa is located three minutes from the main road. Perfecto!

Villa Paola is highly recommended to stay. Perfect to stay with a group of friends or for a (large) family. If we do another cycling weekend we will book again! And the steep climb won’t change that.
